Community Breastfeeding Counselor

Join us in our mission to bring breastfeeding support to everyone in every community!

This 20 hour training will equip you to lead breastfeeding support groups and be a first contact for women in your community who are struggling with breastfeeding.

This training will cover counseling skills, trauma informed care, affects of social disadvantage, history of breastfeeding, benefits of breastfeeding, breast anatomy, hormonal pathways, helping with latch, basic breastfeeding troubleshooting, biologically normal baby behavior, caring for a newborn, bottle feeding support, pumping information, professional partnerships, and making referrals.

This training has been approved for 16 L-Cerps and 2 R-Cerps by IBLCE and We have been officially recognition by IBLCE as a peer counselor organization so that this training and your work as a Community Breastfeeding Counselor will go towards certification as an IBCLC, should you choose that path in the future.

Although this training will give you the knowledge and skills to begin volunteering in your community and improving breastfeeding rates, it is will not give you the ability to become an independent care provider.

There is NO FEE for this training!

February 18-20, 2022. Friday and Saturday 8am-4pm, Sunday 1-5pm at Trinity Worship Center at 1051 Beech St, Mt Vernon, OH 43050

April 22-24, 2022. Friday and Saturday 8-4, Sunday 12-4 at Zion Christian Fellowship at 10405 Sawmill Rd, Powell, OH 43065

We are still working on securing training sites and determining locations for 2022 trainings. If you are interested in bringing a training to your town, or would like to offer us a location for training please contact us and let us know!
